/Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death
in the United States.
What is a Stroke?
A stroke is a "brain attack". It can happen to anyone at any time. It occurs when blood flow to an area of brain is cut off. When this happens, brain cells are deprived of oxygen and begin to die. When brain cells die during a stroke, abilities controlled by that area of the brain such as memory and muscle control are lost.

2015 Boston Marathon Team
One of my friends and teammates Dan, who is one of the best people I know, is attempting to reach 50 States in 50 Days.
What exactly does that mean?
Get one person in each of the 50 states to donate at least $20 and share the warning signs of stroke to raise awareness.
With the 50 days ending on December 31, he is coming down to the wire and has 7 states remaining!
The 7 states are:
- Delaware
- Idaho
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Nebraska
- Nevada
- New Mexico
